Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This AGREEMENT is governed by the laws of the state of California, County of Los Angeles USA. without regard to the conflicts of laws principles thereof. USER consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and laws of the state of California, County of Los Angeles and  all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this SITE. Use of this SITE is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, excepting limitations in the Liability Disclaimer, including without limitation, this paragraph and Electric eBook Publishing makes no representation that the CONTENT or services available on this SITE are appropriate, lawful or available for use in other jurisdictions.

USER acknowledges that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between the USER and Independent Book Publishers, LLC as a result of this AGREEMENT or use of this Web site. USER agrees not to hold himself or herself out as a representative, agent, or employee of Independent Book Publishers, LLC shall not be liable for any representation, act or omission of the USER.

Material rating system

Before you obtain a download, an Author's Account, or a Buyer's Account from Independent Book Publishers, LLC, we ask you to review the following:

Ratings System Categories: 

            Category 1) Adult Books (18 or older): Contains mature 
                                 content, such as graphic or perverted violence, sex,
                                 molestation, or  themes that may be damaging
                                 to children.

            Category 2) General Books (14 or older): May contain
                                 strong language,  strong violence, or non-graphic
                                 love making.  Parental guidance is
                                 encouraged.           

            Category 3) Children's Books (13 or under): Contains themes
                                 appropriate for children. Note that Independent Book
                                 Publishers, LLC retains the right to remove any materials
                                 with strong language, strong violence, sex, or molestation
                                 reported to us in this category.

Under NO circumstances will Independent Book Publishers, LLC accept materials that propel violence or prejudice. Such materials may include manuals for developing weapons or promotional racist material. Any material that is reported to us shall be removed and the author's account shall be closed. 

Note to Customers: Independent Book Publishers, LLC cannot review all material submitted to our site. Therefore, we ask our customers to help us by reporting material not in the correct categories listed in our ratings system above. 

However, note that Independent Book Publishers, LLC cannot be held liable for the actions of authors if we are unaware of their actions or feel no guideline is in breach.

Parental Warning: Independent Book Publishers, LLC encourages parents to review the material your children download, even when it is listed in Category 3 or your child has a restricted Children's Account. We ask parents to report any material that may be falsely listed in that category.

Due to a lack of awareness, Independent Book Publishers, LLC is not responsible for the actions of those using our service to publish or plagiarize copy-written work. If an author using Independent Book Publishers, LLC is in breach of copyright regulations, the dispute is between the author, the holder of the copyrights, and the copyright company. If copyright infringement can be proven by the holder of the copyrights, Independent Book Publishers, LLC shall gladly remove the material in question.
